Results from the Nova Scotia Orienteering Series. Congratulations to everyone who participated.
The 2019 Bluenose Classic Middle Distance was held at Long Lake Park, Halifax on Sunday, Oct, 27th. The event saw 107 participants including a large Cadet contingent compete on 8 courses in some very technical forest terrain on a sunny fall Sunday.

Orienteering Nova Scotia was represented by a contingent of nine athletes at the Canadian Orienteering Championships in Laval and Rawdon, QC on July 26-28th, 2019. The three-day event, including a Sprint, Middle and Long distance race, saw great success and many medals won by our athletes.

The COCs were preceded by the Ottawa O-Fest and Azimut Laurentides Junior Orienteering Camp also attended by our athletes.
It was noticed on April 30th, 2019 that our Contact form on the website was forwarding to a non-existent email. If you submitted a form to contact us prior to that date is was not received by OANS (or anyone). This issue has been fixed. Please feel free to contact us via the website.
The Board of Directors of the Orienteering Association of Nova Scotia is calling a meeting of the members to amend the By-Laws in accordance with the By-Laws:
“SECTION TWELVE: AMENDMENTS TO BY-LAWS
12.01 Any alterations, amendments or additions to these bylaws must be approved by a seventy-five percent (75%) vote of the members of the association present and voting in person or by proxy at a meeting called for the purpose of amending these by-laws.”
The meeting is open to all members of OANS and will be held via telecon on Wednesday, March 6th, at 8pm. Any member wishing to participate is asked to call in to the following number at that time:

Here is a link to the document with tracked changes for your review prior to the meeting. The changes proposed are: removing gendered language, changing the membership year to match the fiscal year and also allowing amendments to the by-laws at the AGM.

The Orienteering Association of Nova Scotia presents 5 awards annually to individuals in the province that have made a significant contribution to the sport of Orienteering. All members of OANS are welcome to nominate an individual for an award which will then be voted on at the Annual General Meeting.

The Annual General Meeting of the Orienteering Association of Nova Scotia will take place on Sunday, February 10th, 2019 at 11am @ Sport Nova Scotia (3rd Floor Classroom).
Reports from Clubs, Committees and Members of the Executive on the past year as well as Election of the new Board of Directors and selection of Award Recipients will take place.
