Description:Come and Try It: Beginners Event: Oakfield Park , June 24, 2007. If you have visited our web-site and thought about trying orienteering, but never got around to it, here is a good opportunity. OR, if you would like to introduce your family to orienteering, or you are just curious, come and join us. In conjunction with the Schwarzwald-Beechhill Playground Association Recreation Month celebration, there will be a beginners course available with start times between 10.30 a.m. and 12.00 p.m. This is a point to point event. Controls must be visited in a set order and each individual or group will have an individual start time.

Participation will be free and instruction will be available. The course could be run or walked depending how competitive you are. Walkers should be able to complete the course in about an hour. Oakfield Park also offers a swimming area at the lake and picnic areas. It is situated on Highway 2 between Fall River and Enfield, North of Halifax.
