Bluenose Classic/Trio Cup Weekend

Type: TRI-O-CUP: Orienteering NS offers a fun weekend of orienteering involving three events. A middle distance race at the Youth Hostel on Saturday afternoon, a night O at the Hostel area Saturday night and of course, the Nova Scotia Championships at Victoria Park on Sunday. Those who participate in all three weekend events qualify for a trophy known as the TRI-O-CUP. A special award for those who have the highest combined standing in all three events in each of the three age categories, under 18, 19-35 and 36 Plus!

Description:The Middle Distance event will be held on Saturday, October 18th. This event will be on the trails behind the Hostel.
Middle distance events are usually set to take between 30 - 60 minutes and require close attention to the details on the map. Register at 11:00 at the Hostel

The Night-O Event will be held the evening of October 18th, and will be in the lower day park in Wentworth. A night "O" is a fun short course laid out in an area that has lots of trails and open sections. You must have a light. While the course is not difficult for a day event the darkness adds another whole dimention.

Fees for this event are $5.00 per person.
Registration in Wentworth Park at the Park entrance by the old trans-Canada highway between 6:00 and 7:00 pm. Please park on Station Rd. not on the Highway.

The Bluenose Classic will be held on October 19th. in Victoria Park in Truro. This is our Provincial championship and will have 5 levels for novice and experienced folks and will be an "A" style meet. This means you will not get your map until you start and it is a point to point.

The Youth Hostel has been booked for fellow orienteering folks to stay over on Saturday night, if you are interested please email Michael Price to reserve a bed.

The Tri-O-Cup event was started in 2007. We award points to participants who take part in all three events and the person with the most points wins the Cup.
