Registration for Canoe/Kayak Races starts at 8:00. All Canoe races benefit the North Shore Adventure Club. Cost per entry is $20.00 per vessel This year there is a series of draw prizes and first place prize for every category.
Rental vessels are limited on a first come first served basis at an additional $20.00. Be sure your vessel, life jackets and equipment are Canadian Coast Guard compliant. For rentals, contact Greg Nix -243-3295 or gregalvina@yahoo.ca

Sat 24th July 9:00 start for Canoe Race
Race The Island: Two loops timed race around the Island. Starts anytime between 9:00 and 10:00 Saturday morning (finish time approximately 25-40 minutes) Separate categories for types of canoes/kayaks
Island Paddle: A family oriented event! Paddle to the Island, hike the trails to find checkpoints and paddle to the finish. 9:00 start

Wet &Wild: An extreme challenge for the fit and adventurous! Paddle and hike to a variety of checkpoints using a map throughout the estuary!
(Those wishing to do the Island canoe race and one of the other events can have a later start time)

YES--There will be free camping offered again this year about a 15 minute paddle from the race site. Outdoor fresh water access, electricity if needed and washroom. A lovely sandy beach for swimming if tide is in:) Stay for the weekend and enjoy what Harbourfest has to offer -check out the website at www.pugwashharbourfest.ca/harbourfest_2010.html Hot Air Balloon rides, Helicopter Rides, Golf across the Harbour, Estuary Tours Sunday morning (I am in charge of this) etc etc. Pre-Registration for events is appreciated!
