Intro to Orienteering Clinic (not insured through OANS)

|Description:||Cheryl will put on a short clinic introducing participants to the sport of orienteering, including basic map and compass skills, how to use an orienteering map and identifying features in the landscape.
Following the clinic, participants will have the opportunity to complete a short, beginner level orienteering course (max 2km) on the grounds of the Gaelic College. The course will primarily follow trails go through open areas. Any bushwacking will be entirely optional to participants.
All activities will take place outdoors, so please dress for the weather. Some areas may be wet. Please bring a compass if you have one.
Although not a requirement, pre-registration will help determine the number of maps to print. Email Cheryl at firstname.lastname@example.org for information or to pre-register.
This clinic will help to gauge interest in Orienteering in Cape Breton, and could be a pre-cursor to official OANS events in the area!
Note: Washroom facilities not available for this clinic.
