The weather gods smiled on the adventurous group that showed up for the event today. We had 26 participants with most going out in pairs giving us 17 starts. The score “O” was organized in such a way that all participants got a map of all controls....

Dingle Scare 'O' Results ( Posted Mon October 31 )
Ten of Nova Scotia's toughest orienteerers weren't scared of a little wind and rain on Sunday and came out to the Dingle for the score 'O' meet. When I went to hang the second control on the short course at a trail junction I couldn't find it and then I realized that the trail was in fact underwater as the tide had come right up over the seawall. Hopefully everybody has dried off by now and thanks for coming!
Mount Uniacke Results for October 22,2011 ( Posted Sun October 23 )
Thank you to all 34 participants for coming out on a beautiful fall day. It was a nice day to be out in the woods even if it was rather wet from all the rain. I hope everyone had fun.
I would like to apologize to everyone on courses 2 and 3 for the incorrect placing of a control that was used on both of these courses.
Thank you to Ashley Harding for looking after registration and to Ashley and Jim Blanchard for assisting with the picking up of the controls.
A compass was left on the registration table. I will try to have it at the next meet at Fleming Park next Sunday or if anyone is missing one they can contact me at ahharding@hotmail.com

Well, imagine...it did not rain...and over 70 participants!! What a day we had. The Meet Director and course planner, me, apologizes for the error on some of your description cards...at least the cards on the map were correct. OANS sends a huge thanks to the Cadets for continuing a great partnership! Thanks also to Elaine Cook, Eleanor Conrad, Ian Folkins (Course setter) and Alvina Nix for Registration and Results and to Greg Lockhart for helping bring in the controls. Thanks also to Jim Blanchard, Cheryl Smith, Alex Regan and Art Harding for getting together a great pre-clinic for the cadets.
Wentworth Night O --sorry for the delayed results ( Posted Mon October 10 )
I finally had time to dig these out of the bag. If there are any errors or I missed something let me know. It was a dark night in Wentworth Park and I thank all those brave souls who made the effort to conquer the park! Thanks to Alice for setting the course and Alice and Michael for picking up the course and helping out:)

A beautiful sunny day reigned over the first Cape Breton orienteering event to be had in a long time. Special thanks to all the hardy regulars who travelled up for the day, and to the newcomers for attending the clinic and trying out an event! Very close race on Course 3, but Ashley's still looking like the favorite to win the point series...
