Meet report for November 6, 2011, Debert Bike and Foot “O”
The weather gods smiled on the adventurous group that showed up for the event today. We had 26 participants with most going out in pairs giving us 17 starts. The score “O” was organized in such a way that all participants got a map of all controls that were placed and the beginner group needed any 6, the intermediate needed any 10, the advanced were to find any 17 but the daring group on this course wanted to find all 20 so we made the slight adjustment. The bikers were in search of any 19. It was great to see the enthusiasm of the bike group as they had the tough job of reading the map and riding a bike. We did a mass start for the foot “O” participants and then did a timed interval start for the bikers. I want to thank Bruce Roberts who gave advice on planning the course for the bike portion and for meeting me early in the morning to set the course. I also appreciate that he provided supervision on the course during the event and went around the course after the event to collect the controls. Alex Regan makes the registration process very smooth and basically took care of the registration and results on his own. The results follow.
